Our Story

A little over two years ago, Lawrence and Marina met at a local Denver brewery called Lowdown just a few blocks from FareHarbor’s old office. In her rush to leave her volunteering job at Girls, inc., Marina misread the message and thought she was meeting Lawrence at Joyride Brewery, located only a few blocks away.  How she could confuse the two breweries, we’ll never know. She realized her mistake when Lawrence texted that he was “on the patio” and there was no patio in sight. She responded asking him if he would prefer to reschedule, but he had just ordered a beer and was willing to wait.

Thirty minutes later, they met, had beers, talked about their life pursuits and passions and decided that the night would end too early if they stayed on that patio. They walked to the neighboring bar, Armida’s, a local karaoke favorite.  Amidst several shots of tequila and a crowd of strangers, they sang Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes’s 80’s hit, (I’ve Had) the Time of My Life.

Two years later, amongst family and friends, they celebrated their engagement at that same local karaoke bar.
